Hey there,
I’m Julia! I’m a 3D character animator from Sweden, specializing in keyframe animation and expressive character performance. I thrive on creativity, collaboration, and a good joke. To me, great animation is a mix of craft, storytelling, and a whole lot of heart.
My creative journey began in graphic design as a kid, but I later discovered 3D animation. Since then, I’ve thrown myself into the craft, studying at Hyper Island, where I’ve learned the full 3D pipeline, from storyboard to final render. The program challenged me to grow both creatively and technically through hands-on team projects, client collaborations, and self-led projects. Along the way, I’ve developed not only my animation skills but also the communication and project management abilities essential to being a well-rounded artist. My 4-month internship period has been especially valuable, giving me real-world experience and insight into the industry.
I’ve always had a special love for animated kids’ movies. They’re the ones I turn to in both difficult and happy times. I’m fascinated by how animation can bring such joy and comfort while also exploring bigger emotions that resonate with both children and adults, each experiencing them in their own unique way. My goal is to create work that connects deeply with viewers and leaves a lasting impression, whether it makes them laugh or cry.
